These files give you a starting structure you can adapt to your project. The CSV is an editable manual worksheet, not an automatic calculator or an application import file. Keep your evidence and check the calculations in your working copy.
Completed example preview
Hypothetical extension comparison, not a customer estimate or a market-price benchmark. Base costs are ex VAT. The £1,500 difference identifies review questions; it does not establish accuracy or extra profit.
| Reference | Work package | Decision or review note |
|---|---|---|
| E01 | Enabling | Check disposal and temporary support basis |
| E02 | Structure and envelope | Review wall build-up and glazing allowances |
| E03 | Services | Confirm both figures include the same point schedule |
How to use it
- Keep each original estimate and its document register. Copy comparable package costs into separate columns.
- Check inclusions, exclusions, allowances, revisions and tax before comparing amounts. A matching total alone does not establish matching scope.
- Add the labour, materials, plant and subcontract amounts once for each package. Keep project risk and overhead/profit separate from base cost.
- Record the reason for each material difference and its remaining action. Calculate the totals in your working spreadsheet, then use the price-review checklist before issue.
